Life is hectic. Women, in particular, spend so much time taking care of everyone else that they forget to take care of themselves. Not good! You need time to decompress and take a break from the daily stressors in your life. Even if it's a quick 15 minute break, it may be just what you need to get through the day.
Below is a list of suggestions on quick ways to pamper yourself:
Take a shower and get dressed every morning, even if you are staying in all day. The act of doing your hair and putting on make-up will give you a pep in your step and boost your self-esteem. I must admit that I am guilty of slacking in this area. I have been known to zip through the grocery store in my sweats with a hat pulled down over my greasy hair. Yikes!
Take a hot bath. Throw some salts or aromatherapy oils in the water, light some candles, put on some soothing music, and lock the bathroom door.
Give yourself a quick foot soak, pedicure, or manicure. Better yet, if you have the time and the money go get this professionally done.
Give yourself a neck or foot massage, or con a loved one into doing it for you. Again, if you have time and money go get a professional massage. Many salons offer membership perks where you can pay less for a monthly massage.
Take over the family room, snuggle under the blankets, and read a good book or watch a chick flick.
Take a power nap.
Use scents to lift your mood through candles, warmers, or wall oil diffusers.
Try 15 minutes of deep breathing or meditation.
Step outside and soak up nature.
Play a game with loved ones or pets.
Do something creative like writing a poem (or blog article), drawing a picture, or playing a musical instrument. If you lack creativity you can always color in a coloring book.
Of course every gal knows a bit of dark chocolate or a glass of wine can do wonders too!
This list is only limited by our imaginations. Promise me you'll take at least 15 minutes a day for yourself and enjoy that time.
