The biggest excuse for not traveling is money! Let’s explore some options. First find where you can cut back in your monthly expenses. Consider giving up a daily expense that isn’t necessary (ie, coffee shop, buying lunch, paying for transportation). You can bring coffee and lunch from home to help save money and walk to closer locations (perk of exercise and saving money). You can quit a bad habit like smoking. Avoid going out to eat and make more meals at home. Consider changing your cell phone plan to something simpler or giving up cable television. Allot all of the money you would save from these sacrifices to fund your vacation.
The second is fear of flying! You can drive to many beautiful locations. Taking a bus tour is another option. Many locations can also be reached by train. All of these are affordable options as well.
Another common fear is traveling alone. Ask a close friend or family member to take a trip with you. This may ease the fear of traveling alone and make it more affordable if you share travel expenses and lodging. You can also take a cruise. They are designed to meet new people and see sites with groups. Travel to visit family in other areas of the country. This will enable you to see new places, stay with family and save money on lodging. You can also consider traveling with a service group.
