What the heck is going on here?
Osteoporosis is caused when our bones lose their density and their microarchitecture. This in turn can lead to fractures, pain, and even death. But why does it happen? There are many reasons, and they include:
Why I am I telling you all of this? Because prevention is your best defense against this painful, ugly and debilitating disease. If you have some of the above risk factors, work to eliminate them as much as possible. Once you lose your bone, it's super hard to get it back. And those drugs you see advertised on television don't really work. They also do more harm than good.
