We often live in a world of routine that keeps us comfortable. I have plenty of friends who buy the same groceries, eat the same meals, wear the same clothing on a weekly basis, stay home on weekends, go to the same restaurants, hang out with the same friends. Others who go to work and return home to do household chores. They may be content with their lives, but often feel depressed or stuck in a routine. They are missing a lot of fun and adventure! There really is no excuse.
Maybe start simple, try a new restaurant, order something you have never tried before. Wear a new color that you typically would not and try a new hair style. Try at least one new recipe on a weekly basis with at least one new ingredient that you have never used before. Call up on old acquaintance and get together.
Advance a little. Go out to a local event, meet and talk to strangers, they may become quick friends. Go see a new band, shop at a new grocery store or farmer’s market. Sign up for an new class at a local college or fitness center. Consider volunteering your community.
Maybe once you have a taste of challenging your comfort zones, go bigger. Get a passport, travel to a place you have never been. Randomly pick a spot on a map and go explore it. While you are traveling, eat local foods, try local activities and attend local events. Talk to people in the area and discover their lifestyle.
Next you have learned to love those little bits of adrenaline and are excited to continue experiencing new and different things. For those of you loving that feeling, try a hot air balloon ride, white water rafting, storm chasing tour, parasailing, ATV riding, zip lining, snorkeling or scuba diving.
